Meet the team

In 2019, Tsveta joined Van Ommeren Architecten full-time, contributing as a versatile architect throughout all project phases, from conceptual design to aesthetic supervision. In 2022, she became an Associate Architect at the newly rebranded Van Ommeren Associates (VOA), where she continues to bring her strong creative vision, organizational skills, and passion for design to the team.

Tsveta is particularly inspired by the early stages of design, where she thrives in front of a blank sheet, exploring new ideas and references. She finds inspiration both through research and travel, and she views architecture not just as a profession but as a way of life. Building her own home provided her with a deeper understanding of construction techniques and the complexities of minimalist detailing, which she integrates into her work.

Outside of architecture, Tsveta enjoys working with her hands, crafting objects out of concrete. What began as an exploration of concrete jewelry evolved into the creation of architectural concrete models for competitions. Her commitment to creativity, precision, and exploration makes her an integral part of the VOA team, always ready to embrace the next challenge.

Bob Spitz is an architect and engineer specializing in complex residential projects. He earned his master’s degree from TU Delft in 2021 and became an associate architect at VOA in 2023. Bob thrives on solving wicked problems—complex challenges without clear solutions, where many different interests intersect. The more intricate the problem, the more it motivates Bob to resolve it with creative, practical, and high-quality solutions.

He speaks the language of policymakers, developers, builders, and community members, working together to ensure that design and execution are seamlessly aligned.

Bob’s style is rooted in constructivist architecture, with a focus on clarity, structure, and rhythm. He enjoys designing across all scales, from small details like house numbers to entire residential areas. He always considers usability and feasibility—for both people and non-humans. Bob specializes in creating BIM models and using digital tools to optimize the design process.

He believes that good design and a smooth process go hand in hand. In his free time, Bob finds inspiration in nature, for example, through climbing and discovering new places.

From a young age, Valeriia was fascinated by design and buildings. By the time she was 14, she knew modern architecture was her true passion, which led her to study architecture and pursue a career focused on creating great places to live. She began her career in Kyiv, Ukraine, working on a variety of projects, from small private homes to large high-rise buildings. Along the way, she developed an interest in architectural visualization, which started as a hobby and eventually became a full-time profession.

Things took an exciting turn when Valeriia moved to Budapest to work as a 3D artist at an international studio. There she had the opportunity to refine her skills in architectural visualization, gaining valuable experience in a creative, fast-paced environment.

In 2022, Valeriia joined VOA where she combines her skills as both an architect and 3D artist. The chance to work in a new cultural and professional setting, especially with her love for Dutch architecture and culture, made this opportunity even more appealing. In her role, she works to bring both technical and creative aspects together, creating visualizations that help clients imagine their projects while also turning design concepts into reality.

As a hobby, Valeriia finds inspiration in nature—whether through walks on the dunes or exploring new places. But no matter where she is, her biggest passion remains architecture.

Sebastiaan de Boer has been working at Van Ommeren Associates for over two years. He obtained his Master's degree in Architecture from the Delft University of Technology, where he graduated in Complex Projects. This specialization, which focuses on developing creative and pragmatic solutions for complex issues, plays a significant role in his work. His ability to tackle challenging and complex tasks aligns perfectly with the projects at VOA, where the focus is often on finding balanced and thoughtful solutions.

Sustainability is a natural starting point for Sebastiaan in all his designs. He believes that architecture should make a functional contribution not only to people but also to animals and nature. For him, it is crucial that buildings contribute both to the quality of life of their users and to the environment. He sees the beauty and value of a project arising from its functionality and the way it benefits the surrounding environment and society. While brutalism and other strict styles are not often featured in his assignments, the principles of honest (and robust) architecture remain essential to him. He designs not only for the immediate user but also for the casual passerby who encounters a building or space. Sebastiaan is naturally a social person who values staying in contact with colleagues, other teams, and clients both personally and professionally. He places great importance on building good relationships and believes that open communication and a positive rapport are essential for the success of a project. Sebastiaan remains calm when necessary, but he enjoys conversing with people and ensures a good dialogue that contributes to a pleasant work atmosphere and effective collaboration.

In his free time, Sebastiaan often seeks nature or takes walks through the city, always looking for new inspiration. The balance between city and nature in his hometown of The Hague offers him a rich source of ideas. He often looks up, observes, and compares, incorporating his experiences into his designs, paying attention to both detail and the broader context of a project.
